The Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) participated in the KALRO Dairy Research Institute (DRI) Naivasha Open Week, held from 23rd April to 24th April 2026, where the Centre showcased its products and services to farmers and stakeholders in the livestock sector.
During the two-day event, KAGRC engaged with farmers, extension officers, researchers, and other stakeholders, providing information on quality livestock genetics, artificial insemination (AI) services, and practical solutions aimed at improving herd productivity.
Visitors to the KAGRC stand had the opportunity to learn more about the Centreโs range of genetic materials and advisory services designed to support farmers in achieving improved breeding outcomes and enhanced livestock performance. The interactions provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and addressing farmersโ questions on breeding, genetics, and herd management.
The Open Week offered an important opportunity for KAGRC to strengthen partnerships with stakeholders in the livestock industry while promoting the adoption of improved animal genetics as a key driver of increased livestock productivity and national food security.
KAGRC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting farmers and stakeholders through the provision of reliable genetic resources and professional services that contribute to sustainable livestock development in Kenya.
KAGRC undertakes testing of Liquid Nitrogen containers for interested clients on request to determine their efficiency.
