The Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre, led by Chairman Nuh Abdi Nassir and Managing Director Benadette Misoi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kenya Red Cross Society at the organizationโs headquarters. The partnership marked a significant step towards promoting the uptake of Artificial Insemination (AI) services and the adoption of climate-resilient livestock genetics suited for arid and semi-arid environments.
The initiative was set to be implemented across Baringo County, Kajiado County, Tana River County, and West Pokot County, with a focus on farmer sensitization, livestock breed improvement, and the promotion of sustainable production systems. Through coordinated technical expertise and community-based interventions, the collaboration aimed to strengthen county-level engagement, enhance livestock productivity, and support resilient livelihoods among pastoral and farming communities in the target counties.
