25th August 2025, Nairobi โ The Stakeholders Engagement on the Mandate and Human Resource Instruments of the newly established National Livestock Development and Promotion Service (NLD&PS) was officially opened on Monday, 25th August 2025, by the Principal Secretary for Livestock Development, Hon. Jonathan Mueke.
The event brought together key stakeholders from across the livestock sector to deliberate on the strategic direction, governance framework, and human resource structures that will guide the operations of the NLD&PS under the State Department for Livestock Development.
In attendance were Dr. Nuh Nassir, Chairman of the Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC), Dr. Benadatte J. Misoi, Managing Director of KAGRC, and Ms. Silvia Otunga, Manager, Human Resource & Administration. Their participation underscored KAGRCโs commitment to supporting the strengthening of institutional frameworks aimed at enhancing livestock productivity and service delivery across the country.
The National Livestock Development and Promotion Service is the newest board under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, established to coordinate, promote, and oversee key programs and initiatives that drive growth, innovation, and sustainability in Kenyaโs livestock industry.
The engagement provided a valuable platform for participants to share insights and align on the implementation of the Serviceโs mandate, ensuring effective coordination with existing agencies and stakeholders within the sector.
KAGRC undertakes testing of Liquid Nitrogen containers for interested clients on request to determine their efficiency.
