Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, State Department of Livestock Development established through Gazette Notice No. L.N. 110 of September, 2011. It has been in operation since 1946 as Central Artificial Insemination Services (CAIS) and its mandate is to produce, preserve and conserve animal genetic material (semen embryo, tissues and live materials) and rear breeding sires for the provision of high-quality disease-free semen to meet national demand and for export. KAGRC works in close collaboration with other breeding organizations, societies and individual farms. KAGRC has four (4) sub-centres in the following counties Ndomba-Kirinyaga, Chuka-Tharaka-Nithi, Sotik-Bomet and Eldoret-Uasin-Gishu.

  1. Search KAGRC website then under the Opportunities menu click on Vacancies.
  2. Click on the recruitment portal link.
  3. On the recruitment dashboard, the current open vacancies will be listed. On the top right, click on Login to open an account.
  4. For new users, create an account using your email and click on the link sent to your email inbox to activate your account.
  5. Complete your profile with all applicable information.
  6. Upload your documents where necessary using the upload document link. Ensure that the documents are in PDF format and less than 2MB in size.
  7. Preview profile summary to confirm details are up-to-date
  8. View current vacancies on the vacancy application dashboard.
  9. Click on Apply for the job position you wish to apply for.
  10. Attach a Cover Letter and a Curriculum Vitae (CV). Click on submit.
  11. You will receive an email notification that your application has been successfully received.
