Kwale, October 13th – The Kenya Animal Genetic Resources Centre (KAGRC) team, led by Managing Director Dr. Benadatte Misoi, paid a courtesy visit to Kwale County Deputy Governor, H.E. Josephat Chirema Kombo, and the County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Livestock & Fisheries, Mr. Roman Shera. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss collaborative strategies aimed at empowering livestock farmers in Kwale County. Discussions focused on enhancing access to quality animal genetic materials, improving livestock productivity, and identifying potential areas for partnership in future development projects between KAGRC and the Kwale County Government. Dr. Misoi emphasized KAGRC’s commitment to working closely with county governments to strengthen the livestock value chain through sustainable breeding and capacity-building initiatives. On their part, the county leadership expressed appreciation for KAGRC’s continued support and reaffirmed their readiness to collaborate in advancing livestock development within the region.
